I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer after a biopsy in January 2016 just before my 52nd birthday. Having had some urinary problems, the usual man stuff, I went to my GP who ran a PSA blood test which came back as elevated.

I count myself lucky as I have regularly had PSA tests done after an elevated test in my early 40's.  The cancer has therefore been caught early and I am hopefully embarking on a new treatment at the University College Hospital in London called HIFU (high intensity focused ultrasound).

Having joined the group just after my diagnosis I will be the first member to take this treatment. I am hoping to share my journey and experiences with others as I personally found this process very helpful making my decision re treatment. I have now (March 2016) joined the committee and look forward to promoting the work of the group and supporting other men and their families on their journeys.
